Leaf Cleanup, No Blisters
In fact, I already have. You can see in the back, I have leaves, and I've already cleared a path by cleaning up some of those leaves. But here's what I'm going to use to do that, and I'll show you how I do it. It's not too hard; it's pretty simple, actually. If you remember one of my previous videos, I mentioned that I love my battery-operated Ryobi lawnmower. Let me show you what it is and how to put it together to pick up leaves.
So here's my Ryobi lawnmower. It's battery-operated, and I currently have one battery in it, with the key in place. The battery is fully charged, and it will last for almost all of my lawn work, but right now, I'm just picking up leaves. Additionally, here's my grass catcher, which I'm going to use to collect leaves. I'll show you how to attach it.
I have this beautiful maple tree in my yard. We love it in the summer, but it becomes a nightmare in the fall due to the leaves. I've prepared a tarp because I intend to pull the leaves all the way to the front yard. In our city, which is a small one and feels almost like the countryside, they have a leaf collection system. We simply place the leaves on the curb, and the city comes to collect them. However, I need to get the leaves from my backyard to the front yard. Let me demonstrate how I do this.
Now, let me explain a few things about the lawnmower and how I attach the grass catcher to gather these leaves. First, take a look at this lever right here. When I lift it, the handle comes up. This is particularly useful for storage. However, I want to show you how I attach the grass catcher. The back panel of the lawnmower lifts up, and you'll notice two clips. These clips are what the grass catcher slides onto. Watch closely as I demonstrate.
The grass catcher has two metal parts that slide onto these clips. Simply slide them on, and they'll sit securely in place. Once that's done, lower the back panel. Now, I'm ready to operate the lawnmower and collect leaves. Let's see it in action.
Starting the lawnmower is straightforward. Pull back the lever and press the button.

As you can see, it's easy to attach the grass catcher, and I don't need to lower the handle all the way down. To remove it, follow these simple steps: Lift the catcher, slide it out from underneath, and that's it.
So, what do I do with the collected leaves? Let's take a look at how many leaves I've picked up.

I'll make a few runs and fill up the tarp. Then, I'll drag the tarp to the front yard and unload the leaves. It's a simple and effective process. Once I've done that, I can easily put my grass catcher back on.
In conclusion, this method is straightforward and efficient. It beats getting blisters from raking, and since I'm working in my backyard, I prefer not to use a leaf blower, as I'd have to blow the leaves all the way to the front. This technique allows me to move leaves from the backyard, where I have a large maple tree, to the front yard for the city's leaf collection.
